Wærness, Gunnar
Gunnar Wærness (b. 1971) has published four collections of poetry. For his debut Kongesplint, he was awarded the prestigious Tarjei Vesaas’ First Book Award in 1999. In 2004 he was named one the ten best Norwegian authors under the age of 35 by The Norwegian Festival of Literature and Morgenbladet. His poem “Kjære bønn” ("Dear Prayer") taken from the collection EACH OTHER'S, was awarded best poem of the year by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation in 2006.
Wærness has been a co-editor of the magazine Luj, one of several magazines where he has published visual poetry for the last few years.
