Svein and His Rat Roam the Solar System

Nicolaysen, Marit: Svein og rotta gjennom solsystemet

This is a new book about Svein and his pet rat, Mr. Smith. This time they travel in outer space, at least in their own imagination. The children construct a model of the solar system which is scaled down about 10 billion times – on the field outside Svein’s gradmother’s nursing home. But when the cardboard planets begin to disappear, and strange things happen to Svein’s grandmother, there is no telling what the outcome will be. Are the insects flying around in the air really aliens from space?

Like its six predecessors featuring Svein and Mr. Smith, this book is brightly illustrated by Per Dybvig.

Praise for Svein and His Rat Roam the Solar System:

"the start of a cult phenomenon....In series like this, what is most important is that the sequel lives up to the expectations born out of the previous books. This book does not let us down"
(Bergens Tidende)

"Quick-witted... The young protagonists’ creative imaginations give rise to many priceless incidents... Comical scenes and witty lines make this an excellent read... It is hardly coincidental that so many enjoy reading these books" (Adresseavisen)

"Disguised education of the most outstanding kind...This is an excellent book for the eight-year-old who wishes to read on his own"
(Nationen)
