If Anyone Else is Lying Now ...
Tronstad, Tyra Teodora : Hvis det er flere som juger nåAgnes is missing. A great search is initiated. Her friend Rebekka gets a clue that makes her find Agnes, but Agnes makes her both promise to come to the hiding place, and to not tell anyone about it. Agnes has run away, and tells a story: Her mother and Rebekka’s parents have lied about something during all these years. Her father is in prison, and he’s not a nice man at all, as the grown-ups always have remarked. Agnes’ revenge is to run away. And she wants Rebekka to come with her.
But it turns out that Agnes has a very different story to tell – and that story is about her desperate battle to hide her mother’s anxiety disorder. If anyone else is lying now [f1] is a novel about anxiety, compulsion, and how this affects the people surrounding it. The people who do anything in their power to cover up, normalize, hope.
It’s not sad and boring. On the contrary – it’s exciting, insightful, and dramatic. And it’s told with warmth and love towards the characters in the novel.
