Evensong in Alma Ata

Michelet, Jon: Aftensang i Alma Ata

February 2003: Commander Sørsæther, a controversial figure, arrives at the Ramsund naval base in northern Norway with a party of army officers. Two highly trained marines are briefed for a special operation: they are to undertake a secret mission to Central Asia to pick up an atomic scientist, a woman, who is said to be "the mother of Iraq's atomic bomb". She is to be handed over to the Americans - unharmed.

Praise for Evensong in Alma Ata:

"...a taut and soberly composed story which takes us straight into the current state of global politics"
(Dagsavisen)

"...dazzling... short, rich in content, brimming with action and drama"
