The Iron Cross
Michelet, Jon: JernkorsetTwo neo-nazis set fire to a book shop in a Norwegian small town, causing the death of two little girls. One of the arsonists is then found dead, his face shot to pulp and an iron cross around his neck. Police officer Vilhelm Thygesen heads the investigation, but after a while he is squeezed out of the police force. Traces point to a group of Norwegian Nazis who escaped from Norway in 1947 in order to create a new existence for themselves in Argentina.
“THE IRON CROSS is an outstanding example of how art can be popular without having banal content.”
