Kuhle Wampe

Anthun, Frank O.: Kuhle Wampe

The author Ronny W. Sørbo, it would say on the back of the book, was born in Oslo in 1956. He has an education in. No, not a word about the education. At a pinch it could say that Sørbo lives in Rukjan and that he is a carpenter. No. Strike carpenter.

Former Deputy Director General at the ministry of education Ronny Sørbo has gone through a deep crisis, but after he moved to Rukjan and got retrained as a carpenter, he has managed to get his life back on track. He has now written a book about the difficult time in his life.

Kuhle Wampe is a novel about the impossibility of measuring one’s life up to a publisher’s expectations to fiction, about the difficulties of love and the light of work.

Praise for Kuhle Wampe:

Kuhle Wampe is a short novel, 120 pages, but then nothing is redundant. Anthun shows himself as a good storyteller. Ronny develops a good self awareness and matures more than many characters do these days, even in such a short time. The result is a nice little novel about getting to know one self.”
(Vårt land)

”The novel’s strength, apart from a well flowing language, is the narrator’s voice. You have to laugh at the narrator’s staggering and naïve daydreaming … The book is enjoyable and good”
