Letters from the Skerries

Bjørneboe, Sven Kærup: Skjærgårdsbrev

In Letters From the Skerries, Bjørneboe returns to the fictitious place Storøy. He varies between poetic depictions of nature and empathetic portraits of the last residents of the island, as well as sarcastic characteristics of the “urbanisation” of the coast, with café lattes, wine bars and signed culture paths – and most of all, culture churches and culture festivals. No one is spared.
