Badlands

Claussen, Morten: Badlands

"Badlands" is an independent sequel to "Heartland" (2001). In this novel, we follow Fanny on her way from California's coast to the desert west of Sierra Nevada in the end of the 1980s. In a state of restless loneliness, the main character finds herself torn between the two half brothers Sam and John. And along her way, in a sentimental and brutal daydream, Fanny meets a variety of characters from the very core of Reagan's USA.

Praise for "Badlands":

"This book is bubbling with pure joy of writing ... I have no hesitations in recommending "Badlands"" (Fædrelandsvennen)

"He quite literally twirls the language around the reader and drags him along on the journey... Once again, Morten Claussen has written an exquisite novel." (Aftenposten)
