Laura

Claussen, Morten: Laura

Benjamin Gustav Simonsen is meant to take over his family's shipping company and to repeat the life of earlier generations. After his father's death he isolates himself, Tries to write a travel book about London, at the same time his thoughts gravitate back to his relationship with Laura, a woman who slowly starts to resemble a blueprint of his dominatins, British mother.

Trapped in an inner process where everything seems to be dissolving, he loses more an more of his own history, his own words, and his feelings.

Praise for "Laura":

"...Morten Claussen has mastered the art of repeating a heavy, modernistic heritage while at the same time pushing it towards something of his own." (Aftenposten)

"Morten Claussen invites the reader to a race going from bad to worse... It accelerates towards destruction, but it is a ride I relish coming along for." (Dagbladet)
