Later, Lena

Elstad, Anne Karin: Senere, Lena

Later, Lena tells the story of the relationship between Lena and Kjell – from they are in the gymnasium until they have finished their education and live together with three children, in a marriage filled with conflict. Lena wants to free herself from what she feels is strange and unreal. She wants to take responsibility for her own life, but feels inhibited by considerations, guilt and anxiety. It is only after painful experiences, Lena is able to do something about her life.

Anne Karin Elstad received the Booksellers’ Prize for Later, Lena.
