In vivo
Gulliksen Geir and Håvard Syvertsen: In vivoIt is early summer and hot. The annual jazz festival is coming up. Åse Evje is 19 years old, she has just finished high school and has gotten a summer job in the local newspaper. There, she is taken under the wings of a fifty-something old journalist who has been with the newspaper his entire adult life, and who has great expectations for Åse. She is going to do everything he didn't manage to accomplish.
However, one day while out swimming, Åse comes across a corpse, which catapults her into a chain of events that indicates there are things in town hidden in the dark. Surrounding Åse's story there are other voices coming forward: a truck driver with a strange load from the town's defense technology industry, a retired engineer who longs for his missing wife, a woman who has a rendez-vous with her past, a teacher with no parents of his own. Together, these characters and events weave a pattern that any reader would find thrilling to unravel.
