The last few years of Wormedal’s life had been marked by a lot of action and sudden changes. A lot had happened, and it had happened quickly. So quickly, in fact, he himself had sometimes been unable to keep up. The exterior events in his life had spelled each other at a pace his inner life was not capable of keeping up with. Now he was on a carousel, spinning so fast he did not have time to worry about the transitoriness of life.
