Bodvar's saga I: Odin’s ravens

The BODVAR TRILOGY follows Bodvar Torsteinsson from the time he is put in the care of foster parents until he embraces a new faith as a grown man. The first novel of the trilogy, ODIN’S RAVENS, tells of Bodvar’s childhood. Bodvar is the son of a slave, but his grandfather is the great Icelandic chieftain and skald Egil Skallagrimsson, who contributes decisively to Bodvar’s intellectual development.
