Eurovision
Hovden, Magne: MGPStavros Grindheim, former dance band star and Norwegian hit-maker, wants to get back on the covers of the celebrity gossip magazines. He is planning the ultimate comeback together with equally cast-off and failed colleagues. And also Irene, a happy-camper Christian gospel singer with a voice so silvery she makes Celine Dion sound like a foghorn. The plan has been made: They are going to win the Eurovision Song Contest! Aided by viking costumes and harp solos, The Vikings are going to conquer Europe! The fact that it is past the final date for entry is not a problem. They can’t possibly deny them participation if they list Rolf Løvland as their composer …
Praise for Eurovision:
“12 points to The Vikings. (…) truth be told, we aren’t spoiled in an abundance of funny Norwegian books. And Magne Hovden really feels the pulse of the Eurovision Song Contest’s hysteria.”
(Dagbladet)
“Fun and folly in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest”
(Stavanger Aftenblad)
“Hovden must have a remarkably well-developed imagination and sense of humor. (…) Rarely do we laugh to ourselves this much reading a book. Probably not since we plowed through Samiland.”
(Sør-Varanger Avis)
