Ways to Die

Surén, Odd: Dødsmåter

The author Jørgen M. Tolo has moved out to the country to work on Ways to Die, a book which will present the last living moments of people both known and unknown; preferably somewhat bizarre ways of dying - remarkable, strange, thought-provoking. Bu he cannot concentrate, he is for ever going over to the window to check up on the little boy playing by himself on the river bank. The situation looks dangerous, but will Jørgen M. Tolo dare to intervene? Can he intervene? Time is of the essence.

Praise for Ways to Die:

"...Above all, this is a text which is good to read. A risky and unsettling text, perhaps, but first and foremost one that reads well. Surén is a past master at working at a microscopic level of language, causing individual fragments of his writing to glitter, sparkle and crackle. (...) Surén has always been in a class of his own, and fortunately he still is." (Geir Vestad, Hamar Arbeiderblad)

"...In case the message still hasn't got through: this is the best book in Odd W. Surén's authorship so far." (Oddmund Hagen, Dag og Tid, Oslo)
