Formula
Midré, Markus: FormularThis is Markus Midré’s fourth collection of poetry since his 1995 debut, THEORY OF A THOUSAND SHADOWS. With the poems in this book he returns to the roots of his own poetic praxis, to develop it further in a different direction. Through writing that is awake, never finished, listening, the poems approach a greater uneasiness, more sharply based oppositions.
Praise for FORMULA:
“A small gem … Markus Midré’s FORMULA is among those books that remain with the reader long after they are finished, because they touch on something of great importance – in this case important human fears and longings.”
(Aftenposten)
“As a poet Markus Midré is among our most interesting … a collection that … impresses with its formally simple, but intellectually deep approach to one of our times’ fundamental problems.”
(Adresseavisen)
“a powerful European collection, which articulates the moral uneasiness of being a European, in a pinching language that still somehow pleases. This is quite simply very good poetry.”
