Johansen, Jahn Otto: I grenselandThis first volume of Jahn Otto Johansen's memoirs takes us from his childhood and youth through to the time when he, as one of the first Norwegian journalists, began to question America's prosecution of the war in Vietnam. Johansen's personal style of presentation and flair for precise description are much in evidence in his accounts of the uprisings in Hungary in 1956, Berlin in 1961 and Czechoslovakia in 1968, as well as other notable events. These are not the reports of a distant observer but vivid on-the-spot accounts of political and revolutionary happenings. The illustrations include photographs from the author's extensive private collection.
