In this book of memoirs Jahn Otto Johansen picks up the thread of last year's book, Border Area, and again the emphasis is on the international political scene. What chiefly concerns the author, however, are close human relationships. Despite the Cold War and a divided world, some bonds remain indestructible: friendships that last no matter what the strains placed upon them.
