What is power?
Engelstad, Fredrik: Hva er makt?Power never stops to fascinate us. The symbols of power evoke admiration and respect, and various kinds of invisible power form the basis for strong fantasies. At the same time, it is often hard to understand who is in power in our complex societies. The main focus of this book is upon the changes in the conditions for execution of power. Some of the issues touched upon are: Ibsen as an executor of power, gender and power, power of knowledge, property and power, changes in the balance between markets and politics – and underneath all this, the question: Why is power important?
