Innovation in Schools

Skogen, Kjell: Innovasjon i skolen. Kvalitetsutvikling og kompetanseheving

Full title: I nnovation in Schools. Developing Quality and Lifting Competence

Schools have to develop the quality of the teaching environment for their pupils. Education should be organised in such a way that all pupils feel they are being included in a community. For this purpose schools need leaders with understanding and competence regarding various processes aiming at innovation and development.

The author presents challenges to be met every day in schools and he shows how a school leader can help her school organisation and all its members becoming responsible for such processes. A main point is that quality is never achieved once and for all; it is a continuous process in which those who are using the schools, namely the pupils, always have to be in focus.

The book can be used as a textbook or handbook in education and project work, as a private study for experienced teachers and schools leaders, as well as for parents and politicians with an interest in education, and for institutions and organisations within the social and health sectors.
