What is Ethics?

Arne Johan Vetlesen, one of Norway’s most prominent philosophers, gives a concise introduction to the many-faceted field of philosophy. He presents some of the leading schools of thought in the study of ethics and discusses some of the most challenging current issues in the field. The relationship between knowledge and action is given particular attention: Do we always choose the right course of action even when we know what that is?

Arne Johan Vetlesen is a professor of Philosophy at the University of Oslo and has published a number of books on ethics.
