Ark’s Children’s Book Prize for Endre Lund Eriksen

Endre Lund Eriksen has won the Ark Children’s Book Prize for his latest novel THERE’S A TERRORIST IN THE UPPER BUNK.

“It’s particularly cool that it’s the ones that I wrote the book for, the kids themselves, who have been the jury. That the majority of as much as 12,000 pupils has named A TERRORIST IN THE UPPER BUNK the best book this year, makes me dizzy and happy,” comments Eriksen according to the book chain Ark’s web pages. The prize was given him by the Minister of Culture in the main Ark book shop in central Oslo.

A long standing favourite of young readers, Eriksen also won the prize in 2006, for PITBULL-TERJE AND THE FIGHT AGAINST THE CHILD CARE DEPARTMENT.

Fifth-, sixth- and seventh-graders from 450 schools all over the country have cast their votes among six nominated books. Ark is one of the largest book chains in Norway.
