Endre Lund Eriksen has been awarded the UPrisen award for his book Pitbull-Terje Turns Evil . The UPrisen Award is also known as the young people's favourite. The winner is chosen by a jury consisting of 170 fifteen year old students from all over the country. In the first round seven ninth grade classes from different parts of the country elect their favourite from a shortlist of 5 titles. In the second round fourteen students - two from each class - meet to decide on the final winner.
In their announcement, the jury stated:
"Writers of books for young people have a tendency to use swear words in every second sentence to get young people's attention. This year's winner of the UPrisen manages to integrate swearing naturally in the language. The book was impossible to put down. This unfortunately cost us time which would otherwise be spent in front of the telly. We have been following the characters in the book throughout three books now, through good times and bad. The books have developed with their main characters. From children's books to books for young adults."
