Besigye, Bertrand
Bertrand Besigye was born in 1972 in Uganda. He debuted in 1993 with the poetry collection OG DU DØR SÅ SAKTE AT DU TROR DU LEVER, which was well-received by both the press and the public, and for which he was awarded the 1993 Tarjei Vesaas First Book Award.
Praise for Besigye's work:
"What a debut! 21-year-old Bertrand Besigye swoops into Norwegian literature like a bloody Walt Whitman, or rather a language-igniting Dylan Thomas"
(Aftenposten on Og du dør så langsomt at du tror du lever)
"... a captivating collection of poems that takes the reader away on waves of poetry"
(Dagbladet on Krystallisert sollys)
