Næss, Arne
Philosopher Arne Næss (b.1912) has written a large amount of textbooks and academic books. After passing his university degree in philosophy at the University of Oslo in 1933, he studied for two years in Vienna, where he met central philosophers like Rudolf Carnap and Karl Popper. Besides being a philosopher and a writer, Arne Næss is well-known for being an enthusiastic mountaineer. His books have been translated into several languages. Internationally, Arne Næss is best known as the founder of the Deep Ecology and for being a profiled activist in the international peace movement. Arne Næss has written more than 30 books and many articles - some of which are listed below.
