Wandrup, Fredrik
Fredrik Wandrup (b. 1951) has been a well-known journalist in the newspaper Dagbladet, where he has been writing about cultural matters - mainly literature, film and music. His first book, a biography on the controversial writer Jens Bjørneboe (1920-1976), was published in 1984. The well-received book is known to have started a wave of literary biographies in Norway. In 1995 he published a large biography on the great Norwegian poet Olaf Bull (1883-1933), for which he received the prestigious Riksmålsprisen. Wandrup has also written a book about the Norwegian crown prince Haakon and a personal portrait of the fictional character James Bond. Wandrup is known as a well-informed critic of crime fiction. His first work of fiction, the thriller «Black Poker», introduces the hero Benjamin Brenner.
