Daliot, Yisrael
Yisrael Daliot, an Israeli musicologist, was from 1969 to 1984 resident in Norway, where he lectured and made a number of radio and TV programmes for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. On returning to Israel he continued to work in the interests of Norwegian musical life, his efforts to this end being recognized in 1994 by the award of the St Olav medal. Arne Nordheim's music spans virtually every genre, and his reputation has travelled far beyond the borders of his native land. Since his international breakthrough in the 1960s, his compositions have been interpreted by many world-famous musicians.
