The editor of this collection Espen Stueland, himself a prize-winning poet and a well respected literary critic, has picked from Kittelsen’s prolific publications the poems that he relates to the most, as well as poems that are central to Kittelsen’s authorship; thematically or language-wise. He has also written a substantial essay about Kittelsen's poetry, and enlightening introductions to each book from which he's chosen the poems.
