The Recipient

Kittelsen, Erling: Mottakeren

The Recipient is a cycle of 55 poems. Every second poem is dedicated to a person or event, the rest are not. The collection includes a poem about the tsunami in Asia, one for his wife Hanne and his son Jonas, one about George W. Bush and one about the Dalai Lama. With this collection, possibly containing his most accessible poems to date, Kittelsen creates surprising connections between the political and spiritual aspects of existence.

”Kittelsen meets the reader with a combination of idealistic generosity and social criticism… a fine and relevant extension of a very sympathetic authorship”
